Preparing for Christmas- November 12, 2012
Since coming back early, I have been busy shopping. We are preparing for Christmas for the kids and shopping for supplies for the classroom. For those of you that have sponsored a child, first of all I want to thank you! Second of all, many of you have asked about doing a “Christmas gift” for your sponsored child. Since not all of our children have been sponsored (if you would like to sponsor one please let me know!), we ask that you buy something for the school for all of the children to play with. Below is a list of things I would like to see in the classroom but please feel free to buy something special to you. Feel free to buy new or gently used items. Please make sure the toys are approved for ages 2+ or 3+ since we do have younger kids in the classroom. If you choose to do one of the Christmas gifts listed below, please let me know so I can give you information on where to send it.
Kitchen supplies (plastic food, pots, pans, etc)
Doctor’s kit
Musical Instruments
Baby dolls (mixed races)
Puzzles
Playdough
Sidewalk chalk
Bubbles
Powdered Glitter
Different colored tissue paper packs
Sleep mats and blankets– taken care of by Shepherd Road Community UMC
As for Christmas gifts, we have purchased new shoes and uniform pants for each of the children. The children will also receive a children’s Bible (donated by a church in Pennsylvania a couple years ago). We are excited to have our first Christmas in the school and teach the children about the birth of Christ.
