God is very alive here in the Dominican. Over these past couple of days, I have not only grown as an individual but I have also been learning more about my all powerful, loving Father. God is a provider, a healer and he is a passionate lover. I am seeing His love and His faithfulness here. I will not thirst because I drink from the fountain of life. I can be full of joy with nothing because in Christ, I have everything. Coming to the Dominican, I had no idea what to expect, all I knew was that I was going to fall in love with the people and the kids here. I was scared because I hate goodbyes and I knew that it would be hard to leave the connection I had with these kids. I met a girl named Karla and I learned a lot from her. She showed me that it is okay to have emotions and feelings and to not live life with such a guard up. I trusted in God that he would hold my heart and bring me peace. Karla allowed me to see that opening up to people and loving on them can bring you new and greater passions. All their faces, tears and smiles will forever be imprinted on my heart. “For our heart is glad in Him because we trust in His holy name” Psalm 33:21
