Jamie- July 21, 2014- First UMC Lakeland

This is my fourth full day in the Dominican Republic. Nothing could describe the amount of fun and happiness that I’ve experienced during this time. I don’t think I will ever be able to recreate the amazing experience I’ve had so far. There isn’t a day when I’m not having fun, whether it’s helping with the kids or sitting back and watching a volleyball game. When we pull into the school where we are working, there’s nothing like seeing a bunch of kids waiting for us underneath the pavilion with eager faces and giant smiles on their faces. But playing with the children isn’t all that there is to do, there’s digging a trench for the foundation of the school wall under constant sun. Both jobs are fulfilling and time consuming. Overall this trip has been fun and exciting. I don’t think anything will ever be as amazing as this one.
